Maryvale Academy Students Win 2nd Place in Erie County Rain Barrel Painting Contest

IMG_9780Students from Maryvale Academy recently made a splash in the community by earning second place in the 2024 Erie County Rain Barrel Painting Contest. This annual event, hosted by the Erie County Department of Environment & Planning (ECDEP), invites schools and youth groups from Erie and Niagara counties to transform rain barrels into vibrant educational art pieces, promoting the themes of stormwater pollution prevention and rainwater recycling.

Erie 1 BOCES Student Credited with Heroic Rescue

Kaufman1 The quick thinking and emergency preparedness training of Erie 1 BOCES student Brody Kaufman made all of the difference as he stepped up to help save the life of a kayaker in distress while traveling with family in Florida.

Erie 1 BOCES FUSION '25 Fashion Show Highlights Student Designs

The creative designs of a record class of students in the Fashion Design Technology program at Erie 1 BOCES hit the runway during the FUSION '25 Fashion Show. 
The April 3 show, held at Salvatore’s Italian Garden, showcased the work of 24 high school fashion students from across Western New York. This year’s class of designers is the largest since the show was first held in 2009.
