Public Access to Records
Erie 1 Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) is committed to providing public access to its records in compliance with the rules and regulations established by the New York State Committee on Open Government and in accordance with the New York State Public Officers Law, Section 84 et seq.
A designated Records Access Officer is responsible for managing and coordinating requests for records in compliance with these provisions. Individuals who are denied access to eligible records may submit a written appeal to the District Superintendent or their designee, following established procedures and regulations.
Requesting Records
In accordance with the Freedom of Information Law (FOIL), Erie 1 BOCES will provide access to requested records in electronic format, where applicable, if the records are maintained electronically and can be reasonably retrieved.

For additional inquiries, please email Ashley Chambers, the Records Access Officer for Erie 1 BOCES.
If records are maintained electronically, Erie 1 BOCES will inform the requester of the available formats, including electronic files or printed copies on paper or other storage media.
Response Timeline
Erie 1 BOCES will respond to requests for records within five (5) business days of receipt. If a request is partially or fully denied, the response will adhere to the rules and regulations set forth by the Committee on Open Government.
