Electrical (Residential and Commercial)
Learn the fundamentals of the electrical trade from seasoned professionals! This program will help you to gain the knowledge needed for a rewarding career as an Electrician. There is a heavy emphasis on the National Electrical Code and Electrical Theory and its implementation in the workplace. Additionally, you’ll learn proper residential and commercial wiring techniques, safe work practices, trade math, blueprint reading, photovoltaics, wind energy and much, much more! (200 Hour Program)

Registration Process
This program requires an application and entrance exam.

Tuition $5,000
Financial assistance may be available through ACCES-VR, BETC/ECC One Stop, NETC, the US Department of Veterans Affairs or other sources.
A $300 deposit is required to reserve your spot in this class.
- Tuition does not include steel toe work boots. These are the responsibility of the student to obtain. The approximate cost is $125 and is subject to change.
Admission Requirements
- A TABE score of 7.0 in reading and 7.0 in math*.
- A personal interview will be conducted.
- A valid high school diploma or equivalency.
- A valid NYS Driver’s License.
Employment Outlook
Skilled electrical workers are in high demand throughout Western New York. Students completing our program can expect to find opportunities in a variety of workplace settings. Entry-level electrical workers can be found on construction projects and commercial facilities. For those who like a change of scenery, graduates may consider a job as service and repair technician or solar installer. Entry-level electrical workers can expect to earn $15 to $18 per hour. Examples of companies our graduates have worked for include Northeast Mechanical, Deltex, IPL, and Gordon & Zoerb Electrical.
Erie 1 BOCES also provides services such as placement assistance, resume writing and interview skills to help students in their search for a career as an entry-level electrical worker.
