Weather-Related Closing Procedure

In the event of bad weather or a building issue, our closings will be announced as follows:

The official announcement of closing Erie 1 BOCES facilities will be broadcast on WBEN-AM 930, WKSE-FM 98.5; WTSS 102.5 (STAR 102.5) FM; WIVB TV Channel 4; WKBW TV Channel 7; WGRZ TV Channel 2; and Spectrum News. Whenever possible, we’ll also utilize a rapid calling system.

Closings will be announced as:

  • Kenton Career & Technical Center
  • Harkness Career & Technical Center
  • Potter Career & Technical Center
  • Calspan Career & Technical Center
  • Education Campus (Service Center)
  • Workforce Development Center
  • Winchester Academy will close when West Seneca School District is closed
  • Maryvale Academy will close when the Maryvale School District is closed
  • Edge Academy will close when Cheektowaga Central School District is closed
  • Northtowns Academy will close when Sweet Home School District is closed

Special Education Programs Embedded in Districts:
• Your program will close when your building/district is closed

Non-Instructional Itinerants:
• When your school building/district is closed, you may be asked to report to the Education Campus or designated satellite office if required by your supervisor.
