National Mental Health Awareness Day October 2024
Contributor: Inclusion Diversity Equity Advocacy (I.D.E.A.) Committee
National Mental Health Awareness Day is October 10, 2024, and this year's theme is “It is time to prioritize mental health in the workplace.” The aim of mental health professionals is to emphasize the ways our surroundings effect our mental health (ie. safe and stable housing, healthy home lives, neighborhoods, cities, and nature). We all face challenges in life that impact our mental health. Research indicates that one in five people will experience a mental illness during their lifetime. Our mental health is essential to our overall health and well-being. To bring awareness to Mental Health we are encouraging everyone to please wear green on Thursday, October 10th.
A great starting point for anyone who is ready to start prioritizing their mental health is to consider taking a Mental Health Screening. It’s a quick, free, and confidential way for someone to assess their mental health and begin finding hope and healing.
