Winchester Academy Student Helps Classroom Aide Adopt a Forever Friend
Anthony Walker, a dedicated student at Winchester Academy, spends his after-school hours making a difference at the SPCA. As he approaches his two-year anniversary working there, Anthony reflects on his love for helping animals. "I like walking the dogs and trying to find them homes," he said.
Recently, Anthony helped his classroom aide, John Yetter, find a new furry companion. During a visit to the SPCA with friends and staff, Anthony introduced John to Kai, a German Shepherd in need of a home. "I hadn’t been looking for a dog because I just lost my Zeus, but he kept reminding me about the SPCA,” he shared. “When I was ready, I let him know, and I just fell in love with Kai.”
The adoption brought joy to John and Kai alike, and Anthony couldn’t be happier. "I’m excited for his family, and he keeps me updated on her," Anthony said. The connection between Anthony, John, and Kai is a heartwarming reminder of how small actions can lead to extraordinary stories.
