Maryvale Academy Students Enjoy Health and Wellness Fair
A new Health and Wellness Fair at Erie 1 BOCES’ Maryvale Academy gave students a chance to connect and learn new skills.
The January 17, 2025 event included activities involving artforms like origami, clay and Legos, along with physical activities including volleyball and table tennis. The event was held ahead of scheduled Regents exams for students.
“It’s great to see that excitement,” said Bryan Blumlein, a social worker at the school. “This gives them the chance to pull from the stress of day-to-day work and relax with each other.”
Other organizers of the day included teachers Shelley Wos, Ursula Eddy and Abigail Ruggles.
Principal Gina Dailey said the event allowed students in different programs to spend time with each other.
“This is just remarkable and amazing to see these groupings of students come together and have so much fun and to create together,” she said.
