Sweet Home CSD Student Excels in Zoo, Wildlife and Conservation Careers Program
Joy Bado, a Sweet Home CSD student, is flourishing in the New Visions Zoo, Wildlife and Conservation Careers (ZWCC) program at the Buffalo Zoo.
Passionate about animals and environmental protection, Joy joined the program to gain hands-on experience and explore career opportunities in zoology. "From an early age, it was a dream of mine to have a job where I could learn about animals and protect the environment," said Joy.
The program has helped Joy deepen her understanding of animal behavior, gain insight into various zoological careers, and build valuable connections with professionals in the field. "My main goal was to explore different specializations in the zoological field, including animal classifications and career types," she explained.
ZWCC Instructor Hannah Weigand said, “Joy is organized, determined, and puts incredible effort into her academic work.”
Joy plans to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Zoology after graduation. "It’s been an amazing experience with hands-on work and great advice from field specialists," Joy shared.
New Visions program enrollment is open for the 2025 - 2026 school year.
