Erie 1 BOCES Calspan Students Provide Production Support for Taking Back Sunday

On July 27th, students from the Erie 1 BOCES CTE Center at Calspan Business Park had the unique opportunity to partner with 103.3 The EDGE radio station for an exclusive EDGE Sessions event. Under the guidance of instructor, Marc Hunt, these talented students played a role in supporting the private acoustic set featuring the popular band, Taking Back Sunday.

The EDGE Sessions are coveted, private acoustic performances by touring bands, with entry granted only to lucky winners through the radio station. This particular session with Taking Back Sunday was no exception, drawing excited fans eager to experience an intimate performance.

The students’ responsibilities were extensive and hands-on, providing them with invaluable real-world experience. They set up the audio equipment and mixing levels and captured the event through photography and videography.

This collaboration with 103.3 The EDGE and Taking Back Sunday allowed the students to apply their classroom knowledge in a live setting, bridging the gap between education and industry. The experience was a testament to the practical, career-focused training provided by Erie 1 BOCES.
