Akron Student Prepares for Future in Game Design
Devin Rodriguez, a student at Akron Central School District, is thriving in the Web Technologies and Gaming program at the CTE Center at Calspan Business Park. Devin joined the program because he loves to code and plans to study game design at Alfred State College after graduation. He said one of his favorite parts of the program is the community he’s found with his classmates.
“This program has given me an advantage to reach my goals because I found friends with similar interests and worked in a team to create video games,” Devin said.
His passion for coding and video game design has made him a standout in his class.
“Devin has been doing outstanding so far in Web Tech II,” said Linda Rohloff, the program’s instructor. “He produces quality work, helps other students, and shows true professionalism.”
The program allows students to bring ideas to life by writing software, designing and coding games, and developing web pages and sites. With his dedication and support from instructors, Devin is on a path to a bright future in game design.
