Unveiling the Future: “Taste of Tech” Offers Career Exploration at CTE Centers
Every January, as Regents Week unfolds, Erie 1 BOCES Career and Technical Education Centers transform into a hub for career exploration. Welcoming eighth-grade students from component districts with open doors, the annual "Taste of Tech" event offers a unique opportunity for young minds to dive into the exciting realm of Career and Technical Education (CTE).
The three-hour experience is interactive and immersive, allowing students to explore more than 25 diverse programs and chart their course toward a promising future.
The event spans the entire week and is held at each of Erie 1 BOCES’ Career and Tech centers.
“One of the highlights of this event is the opportunity for eighth-grade students to interact with our current CTE students,” said Career and Technical Education Director Scott Bindemann. “These student mentors share their experiences, and passion for their chosen fields, and offer support.”
By providing eighth-grade students with a hands-on preview of potential careers, Erie 1 BOCES aims to inspire a passion that propels them toward successful college and career pathways.
On January 25th, WIVB and WGRZ highlighted the “Taste of Tech” event and interviewed Potter CTE Center Principal Lucas Vogel.
