Maryvale Senior Shines in Early Childhood Education Program
Maryvale Union Free School District senior Alexis Fronczak is excelling in her studies in the Early Childhood Education program at the Potter Career and Technical Education (CTE) Center. Beyond her studies, Alexis said the program has positively impacted her outlook on facing challenges.
“The biggest advantage I’ve gained is understanding that things will get easier,” Alexis said. “You shouldn’t give up and learn from failure.”
Instructor Jaime Lubs praised Alexis for her dedication and positive attitude in the class.
“Alexis is a student worth admiring,” Lubs said. “She has excellent attendance, a passion for education, and always strives to do her best. While she has faced challenges, Alexis has shown resilience, determination, and a genuine love for learning. She brings a positive attitude to every project and inspires others to do their best, even in tough situations.”
Lubs also noted Alexis’s ability to grow through adversity.
“Each time she faced a hurdle, she used it as an opportunity to learn and become stronger and more capable,” she said.
Alexis’s decision to join the Early Childhood Education program was inspired by her family.
“A lot of my family are teachers, so I thought I’d be good at it,” she said.
In the class, students examine the physical, social/emotional, and intellectual development of children and gain experience through internships at local preschools, childcare centers, and elementary schools. After graduation, Alexis plans to attend college to study early childhood or early elementary education.
