Erie 1 BOCES Unveils Third Workforce Development Training Facility
On March 15th, Erie 1 BOCES cut the ribbon to a brand new Trades and Manufacturing training facility, Workforce Development South.
Workforce Development South is an 8,000 sq/ft training center located at 950 Thruway Plaza in Cheektowaga aimed at empowering adults with essential skills for employment in the skilled trades sector.
"This new facility stands as a testament to our continued commitment to empowering individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in today’s dynamic workforce," said Erie 1 BOCES Director of Educational Partnerships and Workforce Development, Christa McHale.
This training center will offer specialized programs including HVAC Technician, Electrical (Residential and Commercial), and Building Maintenance. With a focus, on hands-on learning and the latest industry technology, this facility will serve as a hub for student skill development, and career advancement.
"With new day and evening class options, we are providing students with more access to cutting-edge technology and hands-on training experiences that mirror the demands of today's rapidly evolving needs," McHale continued.
Workforce Development South will join the esteemed Workforce Development North campus and School of Cosmetology located across the street at 1526 Walden Avenue.
"This expansion reflects Erie 1 BOCES continued dedication to meeting the diverse needs of our community and providing opportunities for 1,500 students annually to pursue their passions."
