Clarence Senior Cooking Up a Great Future
Robert Peters is a senior from Clarence High School and is enrolled in the Culinary Arts program at Erie 1 BOCES’ Harkness Career & Technical Center. “I enrolled in BOCES because I want to better my culinary abilities,” Robert said. “I also wanted to correct my weakness and become a better, well-rounded student.” In the fall of 2023, following graduation, Robert plans on enrolling in a culinary school and continue working in a restaurant to further his culinary portfolio. Under the instruction of John Marinelli, Robert has learned about safety and sanitation, poultry, cold food preparation and more. “Robert is an outstanding student with a great grasp of culinary concepts,” Marinelli said. “He has the drive and determination to be the best at what he does.” “This program has taught me how to deal with adversity in the kitchen and how to multitask and concentrate on a daily basis,” Robert said. “I think it’s important to join a BOCES classroom; if you have any idea of what you want to do with your life, and BOCES has a class for it, join it.”
