Clarence Teen Awarded with $1,000 Technical Scholarship
Photo of AustinAustin Oleszak of Clarence was recently awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS). Austin has been part of the Digital Media program at Erie 1 BOCES Harkness Career & Technical Center for the past two years, producing media in the area of graphic design, illustration, video, photography, and animation. He used his talents during an internship with Scott Wood Designs and plans to attend SUNY Buffalo State for fine arts. Austin was one of 225 outstanding NTHS members to receive a $1,000 Jon H. Poteat Scholarship.

Through Clarence High School, Austin enrolled in the Digital Media program as a junior. Now in his second year in the program, Austin will graduate high school with workplace experience and the technical skills needed for an entry-level position. Austin was inducted into the NTHS this past March, along with 170 students from Erie 1 BOCES.
