Certified Nursing Assistant
Become a Certified Nursing Assistant. 100 hours of this course are classroom and lab skills and 40 hours are done in a clinical setting in a long-term care facility. Passing a New York State Certification Exam is required for employment as a CNA. The exam is administered at an Erie 1 BOCES facility by a New York State examiner. (140 Hour Program)

This program requires an application and entrance exam.

Tuition $1,865
Financial assistance may be available through ACCES-VR, BETC/ECC One Stop, the US Department of Veterans Affairs or other sources.
A $300 deposit is required to reserve your spot in this class.
- Tuition does not include student uniforms. These are the responsibility of the student to obtain. The approximate cost is $130 and is subject to change.
Admission Requirements
- A TABE score of 9.0 in reading and 5.0 in math.*
- A personal interview will be conducted.
- An up-to-date physical with immunizations.
Employment Outlook
Previous employers include Elderwood, Absolut Care, McGuire Group of Nursing Homes, Beechwood Continuing Care, GreenFields Continuing Care and Health Force. Entry-level Certified Nursing Assistants can expect to earn an average of $16 to $18 per hour. E1B provides career coaching, resume writing assistance, job search strategies and interview preparation.
